1st see this video. If you think this is a game you are wrong. It's an amazing sharing (or stealing) of the kittens delivered by one cat.

The black cat "blacky" and the white cat "whity" are sisters. When whity was about to deliver, she sought the help of her sister. That was the beginning of all the trouble. The second day after whity gave birth to 3 kittens, blacky became the stepmother. she wanted the kittens in her own custody, under her protection.

What blacky did was to steal the kittens to some other place.

How can a mother tolerate this...? She brought her children back...

Both cats continued this process without a break for more than 2 days.

When the owners felt that the kittens would die, they just locked whity and her kittens, for their own safety, inside a room.. Blacky is protesting.

It's only during the reign of King Solomon, that an incident similar to this has happened.

I don't find this hard to believe.

Yeas ago, my parents had 2 cats that gave birth at almost the same time. One of the cats stole the kittens of the other cat, adding them to her litter. This was easy to do - the other cat was much less maternal, and would spend more time away. In this case, the biological mother took her kittens back for a bit, but soon lost interest. The other mother was very happy with this: she loved having a double load of kittens to mother.

One thing I wonder: what happens, in nature, in such a case? It's hard enough for a mother cat to hunt and nurse her kittens at the same time. What happens if she is taking on even more than nature gave her?

Another thing on maternal cats. We have a cat who kept nursing for almost six months! By the end, her kittens were bigger than she was. We made sure she had very good food all the time, and also that there was a lot of good food available for her kittens. They enjoyed what we gave them, but always went to their mother as well.

She's neutered now, by the way - but we still call her Mama Cat.

So what happened during the reign of Soloman - it's not so exceptional.
