MY FATHER, MYSELF -
and a HUGE DIFFERENCE.
I HAD THE KEYS TO PERSONAL GROWTH.
PLUS a PROCESS for FULL FLOURISHING.
The keys to personal growth are many, but most often the first key is the DECISION to face and deal with something.
As for more keys to personal growth, many keys are labelled COMMITMENT. So often results are not instant. We can take a look at a baby. Standing isn't instant. But watch. The baby is committed to trying, over and over.
As for even more keys, another is reaching for and connecting with LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE.
Seeking out interesting readings and watching videos on people dealing successfully with similar issues - those are more keys ot personal growth.
Another good question: how to continue personal growth? You may have a long term personal growth plan. Most people don't. Among the keys to personal growth and development
is the commitment to keep at it. If you do have a long-term plan, best if you keep it flexible. Or instead of keys to personal development, you may have a key to locking yourself into something that does not suit you long-term.
And now, for one of those keys to personal development: seek out testimonials. What have others said?
So here are a few testimonials.

Elsa is a spiritual healer and a brilliant writer and thinker. She is also for me a pillar of strength and a voice of reason.
And her music videos are a reminder that there is a beauty in this world too!
Nicole Davidoff, passionate advocate of human rights and freedoms, passionately against any ideology that is totalitarian, cat lover

When I came upon Elsa's work, I had been galvanised to protest by the horrific slaughter of children in the Manchester bombing . . . But I felt isolated, downcast and daunted by the mountainous size of the problems. I have always been utterly anti-racist, but my friends thought I had become a bigot. I didn't know what to do.
Elsa's amazing, inspirational work has become a beacon of light to me, . . . which I desperately needed to become tougher, more confident, and much more active. . . . Thank you, Elsa, so much for all you have done to embolden me, and nurture my development. I am truly grateful!
Mary Andrew, working for a voice in mainstream politics

Words to describe Elsa.
An amazing group leader. Contained structured boudaried, with freedom thrown in too!
Enabler. Enables growth.
Motivator. Enthusiastic supportive informative. Open minded.
All welcomed equally.
I would highly recommend her groups and workshops.
Elsa also contains any loose cannons too, such as me when I get on my soapbox!
Humour and coping strategies and wisdom abound.
Aware too. Lots of energy. The full caboodle.
Bernadette Maclean, critical incident responder / EAP counsellor / trauma responder

I was referred to Elsa Schieder and Full Flourishing when I was seeking a like-minded group. I found what I was seeking. A group of thinkers who weren't willing to accept the propaganda we were being spoon fed.
We learned a lot from each other. I learned much more quickly than I would have on my own about what was being censored.
Elsa and the group are very caring. This encourages engagement. I'm encouraged to engage within my sphere of influence about everything.
I recommend Full Flourishing and Elsa's ACE method (Awareness, Caring, Engagement) for everyone.
Chris Zahn, friendly guy who can't help being logical

Dr. Schieder’s “Getting There From Here” was a wonderful experience for me. Many times, people don’t take initiatives simply because they don’t know what to do or how to start. Dr. Schieder has a way of helping people not only define what it is that is holding them back, but she provided a framework for activation and execution of goals. Our group meetings were engaging and fun.
It gave me the motivation and support I needed to formulate a plan. Once I began the process, the stress of feeling static left me and instead I was energized and renewed with a deep sense of purpose.
I highly recommend her program for anyone wishing to take their goals from thoughts to concrete action.

Long ago, the university where I was getting my MA offered students 18 free counseling sessions. But I saw them as for other people. After all, other people had problems, and I didn't. Well, there was one little thing. I easily got angry at small stuff, and hated myself for it. So I eventually decided, I'll take 2 or 3 sessions, get rid of the anger.
18 sessions later, I had a dream. I'm coming out of a changing room at the side of a huge high school gym. I notice my therapist - chubby, unstylishly dressed, unstylish hair - effortlessly running laps around the gym, not even short of breath.
Those 18 sessions were the first steps into
a decades-long journey on my quest for full flourishing - a journey that has included trying just about everything,
from psychoanalysis to breath work to neurobiological approaches to coaching. It all started with a small bit of awareness. One awareness led to another. Each exploration led further. There were also long breaks. And then something else would emerge.
My growing interest in personal growth led to a triple disciplinary PhD - Psychology, Sociology, Cultural Theory. My research and experience also led me to believe that an important component of the human development movement is undoing deep inner fears. This ties in with neurobiological findings on how inner constrictions can be passed on in the DNA, through activating or suppressing different genes.
My doctoral thesis explores the role of fear as the underpinning of constricting forces in society; ways this fear can be passed down generation after generation; and ways of undoing this fear. An underlying question: can a deeply embedded fear actually be undone - or are we condemned, like Freud's Oedipus, to be caught generation after generation in a fear-based struggle? My conclusion: yes, it can be undone; but generally it isn't easy. It's much easier to get stymied or stuck.
Another conclusion: most personal growth movements miss vital stuff, especially relating to the importance of perceiving accurately, thinking well, and having a strong healthy
involvement with the larger social world.
But humans have gotten into outer space. I see the quest for full flourishing as an even more important quest.
I've ended up teaching in 6 departments at the university and college level: Humanities, Education, English, Film Studies, Women's Studies and Sociology. I was long a tenured Humanities prof at John Abbott College.
In general, I love thinking and reaching people.
I also love creativity. For instance, I've written a preteen novel, Caro's Quest. It's about Caro Carolina, 13, weird Geela Gribbs, and Fluffers the invisible dog. Caro faces big questions. What is real? And what can she do when a classmate is struck by a hit and run driver?

Often one of the hardest things is breaking inner walls and building inner strengths, especially when there is a big fear barrier - unconscious fear, in many cases.
My concern with this led me to develop a popular course I taught for over 10 years: Knowing the Inner Self. The course gave students an overview of the human development movement - differing routes to inner change.
I
believe the human development movement is as central to our time as the technological advances - all the more important at present as strong forces encourage fear.
I also believe that the hunger for full flourishing is a natural human hunger - like the everyday hunger for food, a healthy part of everyday life. In other words this is an ongoing journey.
A more general commitment is to truth - figuring out what the truth is on many subjects, in many areas, and then getting the truth told. This commitment ties with the commitment to full flourishing.
I see that accepting what we're told blocks our flourishing and the well-being of our society.
I've developed what I believe is an adequate model for a full flourishing person, plus a 3-part process for change - extremely flexible, so it can be used if we have one small problem, if we are facing a major crisis, or if we're dealing with the impact of an ongoing
damaging situation.
Right now we're living an extended endurance trauma, fear instilled from so many sources, lack of stability as the rules are changed over and over. All of society is disrupted, in upheaval. Lockdowns with massive impact in all areas of life. Closures and openings. Businesses. Schools. Travel.
I see a huge need for a solid reliable process to encourage people to learn more ways to release stress, process
the instabilities, develop an inner sense of security even while looking closely at what is happening - and see how they can contribute toward a safe, stable society.
ACE - A.C.E. - awareness, caring, engagement - provides that, especially though the option of ongoing support.
Something else about me. I love to share whatever I know. I remember, as a child, teaching my sister about
fractions. I was 8. She was 5. And I was able to teach her!
When I was nearing the end of my MA studies, I was given the chance to teach 2 courses. I loved it. I couldn't believe I was getting paid for doing something that gave me so much pleasure. I had never thought of teaching. Teaching those 2 courses was a turning point for me. I found a deep-rooted vocation.
In the past decade I've moved to online projects. The impulse to share things I know and love, things that matter to me, is still powerful.
There's more. I deeply believe that I have things many people are hungry for. Ways to have more flourishing in many areas of life. A lifelong process of increasing flourishing.
That's the impulse behind Full Flourishing. I have explored so much, learned so much. That's not enough for me. I have a passionate desire to share.
And now,I'll end with something crucial to share: a few of the keys to personal growth.
I have mentioned a few of them earlier.
So this time I'll start with a different key. One of the keys to personal growth is REPETITION. Otherwise, almost always, things go in one ear and out the others. Or we do something for a few days, and then somehow go off track. So, it's useful to know that, like keys to your home, keys to personal growth should be used over and over. Don't go: I've already don that 3 times. You have a whole keychain of keys to personal growth. Many of them are the same key, over and over.
Another of the keys to personal growth is slowly developing GOOD HABITS - habits repeated for at least 30 days, so they become natural, automatic.
Most often, though, the first of the keys to personal growth is the DECISION to face and deal with something.
As for more keys to personal growth, many keys are labelled COMMITMENT. So often results are not instant. We can take a look at a baby. Standing isn't instant. But watch. The baby is committed to trying, over and over.
As for even more keys to personal growth, another is reaching for and connecting with LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE.
Seeking out interesting readings and watching videos on people dealing successfully with similar issues - those are more keys to personal growth.
You're here. Seeking out good sources - nourishing yourself -so you're using more are more of the keys to personal growth and development.
