For me, it's that they move us,
touch us, resonate with us.

sweet or bitter sweet -
full of longing -
full of love feeling.

We're in the kitchen,
we're out walking the dog -
and the song is playing.

We wake up -
it may still be playing.

Sometimes I know why
that song is playing in my head.

Sometimes I don't.

But I can feel feelings stirring inside me.

For me, that's the best love song -
one that brings up love feelings,
and keeps them stirring in me.

There's something else

they put something into words -
they bring something alive,
or anyway more alive.
