Meg, Jon and Myra Face a Cold and Rainy Day

It was raining more and more these days. Meg, Jon and Myra couldn't remember a time when it had rained so much.
It was supposed to be a fun week in the country. Some fun. They could watch the rain.They could play board games.
They could read. Or they could go online.

That's what they did over and over.
No one suspected - least of all Meg - that Meg's little game could do what it did.

It was a simple game. When she wished for something, she would say words to make the wish come true.
So when she wished they would all go online and find a kid book, she said stuff - in her head of course -
like kid book, kids books, online stories for kids, ghost dog stories, magic stories. kids story, stories for kids, kid books,
kids audio books. She tried to think of all the ways you could say the same thing. And then she said the words in her head.
Just once each time. Kid book. Kid books. Stories for kids. Kids literature.

If things didn't happen as she wanted, she tried to be more perfect.Her cousin Myra - 2 years older -
was liked things to be perfect. Meg didn't care. But when sloppy didn't work, she tried perfect.

So instead of kid book, she would think, kid's book, children's literature, children's stories, online children's audio stories.

But things took a twist of their own that afternoon.

Except that a dirty girl calling herself Caro was standing in front of them.

Meg's eyes closed. She was back with her words. Online kids books, online children stories, kid story, kid book,
online stories for children. They kept going through her head. Was there something she could do,
to get Caro back where she belonged? Maybe if she said things in some kind of backward order. Stories for children online,
kids books online, children's stories online. Meg wished she knew magic, real magic, not just stupid words she said
because she was scared.
