Stopping Terrorism.
One route is to look at what many Muslims see as Islam Basic Beliefs -
which include the right to rage and even be violent
if someone does something they see as offensive
to their religion.
Another is to look at the
Psychology of Violence, Rage Disorder,
Rage Anger, Self Righteous Suicide.
I wrote some articles where underlying questions were:

I wrote. I stopped writing. I wrote some more, often in response to events - like a quote from a long-ago Catholic in a speech by the current pope, about a year after the Danish cartoon. The quote - one the violence inherent in the Muslim religion - elicited even more huge and sometimes violent demonstrations, the murder of a Catholic nun, and a demand from Muslims for an apology from the pope. (Muslims offered none, that I heard of anyway, for the murder of the nun).
I had no plan to keep writing. But I was on a track that pulled me to keep going further, say more of what I was finding - like any good researcher. Only, as has happened before in my life, this was not intentional research. The subject gripped me.
One thing I kept hoping: somehow to break through the shell-spell of the widespread Muslim self-righteous anger, which I see as vital to stopping terrorism. I was also looking at the not so comfortable place of Muslim moderates - most of whom do not, I hold, do enough in terms of stopping terrorism.
Clinton argued, in an interview, that the pope's remarks were a hindrance to moderate Muslims. For me, the more the bubble of self-righteousness got dented here and there, the better. I also looked at how the self-righteous anger was partly counter-hostility: the West is against us, we have every right to get angry back. Counter-hostility, I argue, can be even more dangerous than hostility: it is backed by actual injustices. A very strong potent impetus to stay angry.

by looking everywhere and anywhere
I am brimming with ideas, questions, thoughts.
And around me, most often I have come up against walls. One must be tolerant. One must not question religion. One must be accepting. I have slowly dragged myself out of the swamp of unthinking tolerance. It never felt right to be there. But it has taken a long time to put my ideas together.
Not easy, when one does not want to intone accepted doctrines.
