TIMOTHY CAT IS BACK!
there was a meow outside
heard far and wide
Timothy Cat was back
he meowed at the door
he meowed quite loud
he came to the door
Let me inside
everyone could see
what Timothy wanted
Let me inside
he meowed out loud
but no one let him inside
five cats inside
That’s enough, said Tom
Are you sure, asked John
Think of the litter, said Mary
But he’s so pretty, so pretty
That was little Jane
who loved every cat that came
They fed him, like every time
And like every time,
did not let him inside
I like him, said Jane
again and again
I do too, said Mary
and sighed heavily
We have enough, said Tom
He looks rough, said John
so once again,
Timothy Cat disappeared
and then, again,
Timothy Cat was back!
Timothy Cat is back! cried Jane
Here’s cat food, said Mary
That’s enough, said Tom
Enough of what, joked John
Cats. Enough cats.
That was Tom.
Five cats in the house,
five cats inside
he didn’t want more,
not more cats
That’s enough, he cried
But in his voice was despair
Once there had been no cats
then two,
then three
What to do?
He wasn’t a cat nut,
He wasn’t nuts about cats
Five is enough, he cried
That is that!
And soon, once again,
Timothy Cat disappeared.
The days got colder
The days got shorter
The wind blew harder
And then ….
Timothy Cat was back again!
Timothy Cat is back, called Mary.
John came, Tom came.
Jane went outside in her jammies
watching Timothy Cat eat mountains
of cat food
She didn’t catch cold
She played with the bold
Timothy Cat
who was back
Timothy Cat is back, she told him
Timothy Cat stared back, bold bright eyes
Can Timothy Cat come inside, she asked
Everyone knew it was coming
And now, Timothy Cat is inside!
