NEW
- NOVEMBER
SPECIAL - Dr
Zee's LoveLine
for explorations of love
and life -
Keeping the LoveLight
Burning,
When Anger Comes
At Us,
and On Caring
- I care, and life has meaning:
Ingredient #1: Emotions
Ingredient #2: Being
Seen
Ingredient
#3: Good Priorities
- more to come.
OCTOBER
- In
My Own, My Chosen Home
about the meaning of home, of being at home - in a place,
with people or alone, in oneself, in the world, in one's skin, in one's
life. It was in my home, just as it was becoming my home, that the words
came to me -
in my own, my chosen home.
SEPTEMBER
- The
Idea Emporium
for ideas that may be controversial and not very politically correct, for
example on stupid opinions
that are very popular, and on ways many
North Americans and Europeans play into Muslim extremism - not through
prejudice and denigration (wrong though these are), but by not standing
up enough for ourselves.
AUGUST
- The
Fluffers Book

a
preteen story about a girl, an invisible dog, friendhsip, mystery and questions.
MORE
OF WHAT'S ON THE MENU -

The
Creativity Blog. It's easy to want
to express one's creativity, harder to do it. And then, it's even harder
to get it out into the world. The blog is about this project, about trying
to get my creative works out into the world. In
it, there are many sides of me -
* the one who gets ideas for stories and word pieces;
* the one who gets ideas about the world;
* the one who tries and tries, and keeps getting closer and closer,
or so she feels, to where she should be.
A recent concern: Taboos - What is it okay that I, as a teacher, share with students?

Words
and music. Word
pieces, spoken word, spoken word poetry, rap, song.

AND NOW, MORE DETAIL ON ...

The
Idea Emporium - ideas that may be
controversial and not very politically correct - for example on stupid opinions
that are very popular, and even more, on the way many North Americans
and Europeans play into Muslim extremism - not through prejudice
and denigration (wrong though these are), but by not standing up for ourselves
enough. Instead many caring Westerners let themselves be silenced
by Muslim outrage, for instance at a few Danish cartoons about
the Muslim religion, instead of telling Muslims to turn their outrage
at something truly outrageous - the murderous violence of some Muslims in
the name of their religion (suicide bombings, murders of Muslims
from different branches of the Muslim religion, etc.).
In other words, why is there no huge Muslim and Western outcry against this
violation of the Muslim religion? One could say that the Muslim religion
has been hijacked as destructively as the airplanes that flew into the World
Trade Center - in both cases by people using religion to justify killing.
Why is that not being denounced loudly by Muslims and nonMuslims worldwide?
Muslims
burned a embassy, marched and protested over a few cartoons - but not a
word was said in those protests about the many incredibly prejudiced and
hateful Muslim cartoons (against Westerners and particularly against Jews).
And of course none of the protesters (while burning cars, etc.) voiced outrage
against Muslim violence, including the many instances of violence against
other Muslims.
So
for ideas and more ideas, opinions, critical thinking, analysis, speculation,
stimulation, check out The Idea Emporium.
The first idea piece: The Rage
of the "Righteous."
As
for "favorite" stupid opinions: Stupid
Opinion Number One - that you are wherever you are meant to be.
AND
ALSO, MORE DETAIL ON ...

The
Fluffers Book
Geela Gribbs was known as more
than a little weird.
She
looked ordinary enough to Caro Carolina, when she came to pick up the key
to Pirate's Den, the tiny cottage next door. She did all the usual things.
She smiled and admired the view of the ocean. Caro's mother said, like she
did with all the guests, "You must be tired after your long drive."
Geela admitted she was, took the key, turned to go. And then she snapped
her fingers, looked downward, and said, "Come on, Fluffers."
There
was no one with Geela Gribbs, no one Caro's mother saw, no one Caro saw.
Caro and her mother looked each other in the eye. Without either of them
saying a word, they decided then and there that the new guest was weird.

MUCH
MORE IS IN THE WORKS -
Most
of all, there's going to be space for other people's creative works - their
words, stories, images, music, ideas -
* at Zee's
Cafe Cafe, word, music and image emporium;

*
at My
Creative Space, where everyone will
be able to upload parts of their own creative works, as well as links to
their own sites;

*
and at My
Creative Match, for people who need
someone to bring creative works to completion - people with music that needs
words, with words that need music, etc.

AND
EVEN MORE IS PLANNED -
My Father's Worlds, My Father's Words
WHAT'S
NEW? EVERYTHING.
New
to the web, anyway. This site has been a long time in the making. But
as for being on the web, everything is brand new, just getting ready to
be uploaded. Excitement in the air. So much preparation has happened -
over time learning how to create for the web, and over the past few months,
how to get something visible for the web.
I
have the sense of being surrounded by carton after carton, each just waiting
to be unpacked in a new home.
I
keep wanting to write, it's like this or like that. Like moving into a
place of one's own for the first time. Like graduating and trying to find
one's way in the "real" world for the first time.
This
is entering another world.
I
have been slowly getting into it - or not so slowly lately. I've been
working on another site, and have seen how, if I just listened to what
the web wanted (through a site that taught me, brilliantly, how to give
the web what it wanted), then I could be heard on the web. One day, still
a total novice, I found the site at the very top on a big search engine,
the first of the non-sponsored sites.
Amazing.Baby
step after baby step added up to a huge leap, unimagined.
And
now this.
Each
project has been long in the making. More and more is being unpacked -
and new stuff is being created, like for a new home.
until
we meet again,

Elsas
word story image idea music emporium
Gertrude
Stein said, almost a century ago, a rose is a rose is a rose.
Much
easier to say that, than to say
Elsas word story image idea music emporium is
Elsas word story image idea music emporium is
Elsas word story image idea music emporium.
But
just as a rose is a rose is a rose,
Elsas word story image idea music emporium is
Elsas word story image idea music emporium is
Elsas word story image idea music emporium.
One
could even go on to say that
a rose is a rose by any other name.
Likewise,
one could hold that
Elsas word story image idea music emporium is
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
by any other name.
And
many humans might not even notice if,
instead of
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
I wrote
Elsas word music image idea story emporium
or
Elsas word music story image idea emporium.
Most
humans would just register that it's
Elsas something or other creative emporium.
And
it is.
But
if you are at this site,
it's very likely in part because of nonhuman intervention,
web intervention -
anything but interference -
not perfect but another way of making a match
between what one is looking for
and what someone else has to offer.
A
rose is something else by any other name.
Elsas
word story image idea music emporium
is not
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
by any other name.
Not for the web.
For now the name is a signal.
So ...
This
is
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
Elsas word story image idea music emporium.
i
am not calling mayday. This is not a distress signal.
It's
an sos signal - hello, come see me, notice me.
Hello,
it's Elsas word story image idea music emporium
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
calling all search engines
to find me on my island
deserted but fertile
enchanted but isolated
creative and creating but too too alone.
Hello,
it's Elsas word story image idea music emporium
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
Elsas word story image idea music emporium.
Who
will help me through my dark?
Who will help me make my mark?
Who will help me build my ark?
I cannot do it alone.
I'm
calling to people
but strangely it's not people I am turning to for help.
It's
the web
the world wide web.
I'm
calling hoping the web will hear that
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
Elsas word story image idea music emporium
is calling, calling, calling with longing and hope.

______________
A
note for those of you who, like me, care that I sometimes write "Elsas
word story image idea emporium" and sometimes "Elsa's
word story image idea emporium." I prefer to use "Elsa's" -
this is the grammatically correct spelling. But there are rules of the web.
One rule: there are places where one can't use apostrophes. Another rule:
one is supposed, at specific times, to use the spelling identical to the place
where one can't use apostrophes.
And
sometimes it makes sense to follow the rules - on the web, it helps with visibility,
and so it helps bring people together. Also it makes sense to me because otherwise
it seems to me that I am much more likely not to reach others - not to reach
a major goal.
