A dozen
years ago,
I began to wake up
with word pieces -
words music, spoken word, songs -
in my head.
Escape velocity.
Echo of the echo.
Tank almost empty.
Can't cross the gap.
Welcome into my world.
SHOPPING SONG
SHOPPING AND LONGING
what's the thing under the doing?
the urge below the shopping?
just about everyone knows.
it's hoping, dreaming.
so what's a shopping poem?
what are shopping songs, shopping poems?
it's the music inside that plays while we're shopping -
shopping and dreaming, shopping and hoping.
shopping poetry,
shopping spoken word,
shopping and longing,
shopping, lost in dreams
at home, who knows?
whatever's there. it's of no use
it hasn't brought, hasn't bought
the dream
shopping songs, shopping lyrics
shopping poetry
the windows filled with things
and with a reflection
the reflection's on the other side
can we get to the dream?
