Over and over again, I try. I've read that, persevence is one of the
most important ingredients. I think I got a double helping - but often
the goal stays in the distance, though I try try try again, try try try,
give it one more try, never one last try,
all in the hopes that it will turn out right. Try trying success.

HALFWAY OF HALFWAY OF HALFWAY

My feeling: that I am that swimmer who keeps going half of half of half of half the distance, and never gets to the other side. Do you know the story? It's one of those stories which is hard to prove untrue, but you know it is. It's some Greek long ago philosopher who, as far as I remember, came up with it.

The story: you cannot swim to the other side. Why? Because after you've gone half the distance, you still have half to go, and no matter how many times you get across half of what is left, half of that will always be left - so it is impossible to get across.

Of course we know it doesn't work that way. If we keep swimming, the final stroke gets us just as far as the first one, and it's not half of half of half of half, but all the way to the other side.

My goal this year, to get to the other side on many fronts: the tax situation, the basement, the creativity site, people working with us. A final connection has to be made - or in fact one is often nowhere, but with lots of effort made.

I see that now in so many areas - so close and yet totally not ready despite massive work.

And also, often when I think things are ready, they still don't get to the other side. So elusive.

Anyway, now to complete yet another task, to try again.
